Little Havens Childrens Hospice
Who are they?
Little Havens is a registered charity and is the children's
hospice for the whole of Essex and outer parts of London.
Little Havens are in their 10th Year and were the first children's
hospice in the South East of England In that time thanks to
voluntary donations we have been able to care for over 900
families.
Little Havens is situated on a beautiful site of meadowland in
Thundersley just outside Rayleigh.
Parents and siblings benefit immeasurably from the home-from-home
environment, in which they can take a break from the strain of
constant care, and concentrate on being a family.
Little Havens has been designed to provide forms of mental and
physical stimulation for children of all abilities and age groups.

A Caring Service
We are here for families Side by Side Every Step of the
Way
We offer a range of specialist services at Little Havens, free of
charge to families, which include:
- 24 hour 'Help Line'
- Nursing Care
- Counselling services including bereavement and sibling support
- Therapy services including physiotherapy and occupational therapy, play and education
- Chaplaincy support
- Medical services
- Catering for varied dietary requirements
Family Care
- Relief to parents and other family members from the burden of continuous care
- An environment which inspires trust and confidence for children and their families, allowing them time to spend quality time together or apart
- The opportunity for parents to devote time to siblings and other members of their family
- Support to the family as their child dies, whether in Little Havens, their own home or hospital
- We welcome families to be involved as much as they wish
Little Havens also has a teacher within the Care Team who ensures that structured planning for each childs educational needs are met
